The Primary School at St Andrew's provides a strong base in preparation for entrance into the Secondary School and other educational institutions in the Bahamas and around the world. The faculty and staff body is composed of 40 members. Our team includes dedicated teachers, assistants, quasi administrators, and administrators. Each of our Pre-reception thru year 1 classes has a full time assistant who works along with the classroom teachers to support our students’ inquiry and learning. We are a community of learners who love learning and strive to become lifelong learners. Our average class size remains below 20 students.

We believe primary school experiences help set the tone for future success in learning throughout later stages of life. We are committed to partnering with parents and guardians to ensure that our students’ learning and development is at the forefront of everything we do.
We are proud to be authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP), and are committed to its philosophy of inquiry-based learning and internationalism. Using the PYP as a framework, we are assisting our students at developing into learners who exemplify the PYP learner profile by being inquirers, thinkers, communicators, and risk-takers who are knowledgeable, principled, caring, open-minded, global citizens who endeavour to positively impact the world in which they live.
Further information concerning the Primary Years Programme can be obtained at the IBO website: http://www.ibo.org/
